How do I enter?

Just pop the class(es) you'd like to enter in to your cart and carry on through the checkout. We'll then send you a confirmation email with an order number. Once you have that your just email your photos, dogs name and order number to prizepaws@gmail.com (prizepaws@gmail.com) If you haven't received an email please check your spam folder as occasionally the turn up there.

We'll always email you back to confirm we've received your entries.

What can I win?

Rosettes & Prizes for competition classes
Each of our competition classes has rosettes awarded from 1st - 10th place. We also have a prize for our winners. Prizes vary for each class and depend upon which sponsor is sponsoring the class. You can win things like treats for your dog, collars, art work and all sorts of other fun stuff.

Special Rosettes 
We also award a number of special rosettes. These are awarded to competitors who may have just missed out on 1st - 10th place. The number of special rosettes awarded each month varies but we generally award around 10-15 special rosettes in total.

Runners Up Prizes 
Each month we award a number of runners up prizes which include a Prize Paws biscuit and a voucher. The number of runners up prizes awarded each month is dependent upon class sizes.

Our Monthly Champion
1st, 2nd and 3rd place from each competition class go through to our championship. The prize changes from month to month. To see our CHAMPIONS prize pop across to our 'What can i win page'.

How are the classes judged?

We choose our judges carefully. They are all professionals with a love of dogs.  We have a mixture of artists and creatives judging for us. We also have business owners. Very occasionally we invite one of our community to judge a class (this is a rare occurrence and if this is the case, it will be clearly stated on the class brief). Our judges are completely impartial. We rotate judges every month. Our judges don't know which class or classes they are judging until the competition closes. Once the competition has closed for the month, photos are sent off for judging. Our judges have 4 hrs to judge their class or classes. They return the results to me later in the evening. They are given no information except the class brief and the photos in front of them. The photos are numbered. We don't give any more information to our judges about your dogs. We don't even tell them your dogs name. They are judging purely on the credentials of the photo in front of them.

How can I boost my chances of winning a class?

Read the class brief carefully—it's got all the info you need to choose your photo. Check out our results page to see previous winners and get a feel for what's needed. Remember, your photography skills and creativity are key, so avoid blurry or poorly lit photos!

Can I enter the same class more than once?

Yes you can. You can enter your dog in to a class as many times as you like.

Question 6

Can people be in the photos?

Accepted Answer

Yes they can. However it is important that you ask permission as your photo may be shared on social media or out website if you win.

Question 7

Can I enter the competition if I don't want my dogs photo to appear on social media or your website?

Accepted Answer

Yes you can but you need to let us know. If you don't want your photo shared please include this info when you email us your photos. That way we can make sure your photos don't appear to the public if you win.

Question 8

Why can't I see the entries?

Accepted Answer

We want everyone to feel happy entering Prize Paws. Some people want to join in but don't want their photos shared on the web for various reasons. In order to make sure that this is possible we keep our judging area secure.

How can I find out how many entries there are in a class?

If you're keen to know how many entries we have, just drop me a message prizepaws@gmail.com (prizepaws@gmail.com)and I'll let you know how many entries we have for each class.

Question 10

Will you publish my personal details on social media?

Accepted Answer

No we don't publish any of your private info on either our website or social media. We will only publish your name, your photo, your dogs name unless of course you've asked us not to.

Question 11

Will people be able to see my photos?

Accepted Answer

If you get placed in any of the classes then yes your photograph will be displayed on our website and across social media. We may also display your photo on social media if you haven't been placed. If you don't want your dogs name displayed along side the photograph or if you don't want your photo displayed on social media or on our website you need to let us know.

Question 12

I'm a professional photographer. Can I take part?

If you are a professional photographer you are not eligible to take part in our competition. The definition of a professional photographer is - someone who sells their images or is set up as a photography business.
We also  don't  accept images that have been purchased from a professional photographer.

If you are a photography enthusiast and really good at taking photos but you are not professional then you are more than welcome to enter our competition.

Can I submit a photo with multiple dogs?

Absolutely! You can submit a photo with multiple dogs unless the class brief specifically asks for just one.

Question 14

Can I edit my photo?

Accepted Answer

Photoshopping is not permitted unless the class specifically asks for edited images. Black and white photos are only permitted in classes which ask for B&W images. Adjusting the tone, brilliance or exposure is permitted. It's important that you read the class brief so that you can ensure that you are working within the rules.
