​Over the years I have got to know many of the dogs who take part in our competitions. I see photos of trips to the beach, holidays, walks in the park, their favourite toys, their naughtiest moments and their funniest. And through these tiny snap shots of time, I get to know them. I get excited when they win and feel bad when they don't. They become part of our PP family. When we lose one of our friends it hurts.

These beautiful dogs all been a huge part of our Prize Paws family. Here are some familiar faces who I'm sure many of you will recognise. Let's celebrate them and the incredible lives they led. The joy and happiness they brought. Dogs are amazing. These dogs are amazing and they are very much forever in our hearts.

Kate X

Mia

Mia came to her forever home in 2014 at almost three years old after I’d lost some close family. She was perfect as my first dog as an adult. She was always there for me and knew when I’d need a special Mia cuddle. She had an amazing maternal nature too when we added three more four legged girls to our family over the years. Almost ten years later and many happy memories along the way it was time to let my girl go on her next journey and be pain free after a short illness. She’ll never be forgotten.

A Riley 

Princess

Princess came to us in 2018, with her Mum Missy. She had the biggest personality, in the tiniest body! At 1.5kg she drew attention everywhere she went. A sassy, beautiful diva, who was fiercely loyal. She died very unexpectedly on Jan 31st 2024, aged 14.

T Smith

Bingley

Bingley was loved by all who met him, he always wanted to say hello, to people and dogs alike, and, like a true Labrador lived for food and fuss. 
Throughout his 13.5 years Bingley was such a character, from his cheeky ninja skills of stealing clothes and shoes, to his favourite pastime of sitting on a lap on the couch. 
He was my shadow, my best boy, and will be very much missed. 
He can now run free with his brother Henry

May

Well what can we say about may ,may rescued us in 2013 , she was like a bulldozer , she was so frightened she chewed nearly everything in the house , but slowly slowly she started to settle ,knowing she was so very loved. We had so many adventures together. She absolutely loved the sea , chasing seagulls , never caught one lol , fish and chips , and most of all people , she was such a beautiful beautiful soul . She will always be treasured and locked in our hearts forever .

B Madden

Missy

Missy came to us in 2018, with her daughter Princess. She was a nervous rescue, having come from a domestic violence household. Missy very quickly became my best friend, she was often described as my shadow, or my sidekick. We lost her very unexpectedly after a very brief illness and she's left a major hole in our lives.

Lucy

Lucy lived a very big life in the short 14 years and 8 months she was here.  She moved to university with me at the age of 7 and everyone saw how my academics and mental health blossomed with her. She insisted on mental health walks daily (sometimes more than once), along with weekend adventures at the crack of dawn before the parks got busy with people. She was my stead fast companion through two degrees in Canada, a year of working, and then moving to Scotland to pursue my dreams to become a veterinarian. She was my best camping buddy, beach cruiser, road tripper, and movie night snuggler. She had the goofiest personality that only got more heartfelt with age. Truly one in a million, and forever my soul dog.  She placed a lot of paw prints all over Scotland in the 3 years she lived here, I will forever see her with her nose to the sea breeze and ears flapping, paw prints beside mine in the sand. 
K Wight

Lexi

Lexi was my soul dog, who crossed rainbow bridge in March 2022. She was the lickiest, sassiest pooch you could meet. She was my best friend who stole all the space in bed, loved a pizza crust and I’m still finding her hair everywhere. Dogs teach you how to be a better person & how to embrace life, they just don’t teach you what to do when they leave.

Perak

Perak was a white Swiss shepherd who changed my life so much in the most positive way ever, he was my absolute heart dog. We enjoyed so many walks, agility and traveling during the 8,5 years he walked this planet. He was such a sweet and goofy boy, always in the mood to do something fun together. Perak passed very unexpectely in february of 2022 because of cancer and he's still missed so much. He will forever be in our hearts

Bodie

People often say you get the dog you need not always the dog you want. That was so true when it came to Bodie. I rescued him from a patient at work, he went from living on concrete flags to living his best life running around fields. Bodie was the breath of fresh air and a reason to get up. He came just when I needed him and set me on the path I'm on today, reducing my hours at the NHS and starting my own dog training business.

Gordon

Gordon was a firm favourite with anyone he met, mostly commenting on his gigantic ears.
Gordon’s a Podenco Canario and was rescued from Spain and came to live with us in November 2018 sadly it was short lived as he was diagnosed with prostate cancer in August 2021 and we had to say goodbye in September 2021.
He was such a character with his goofy faces which made him a winner in prize paws but he also had such a loving nature and was one of a kind.

Willow

Willow was a daft, big thing who just loved to run and be free. She was my best friend and besides work we were always together, she was my shadow, my comfort, my best friend and most of all she was my heart dog xx
C Steele

Kaliska Star

Kaliska star was such a lovely girl, she stole the hearts of everyone who met her. She was loyal and loving and kind and didn’t have a bad bone in her. I practically hand reared Kaliska star, she was born via Caesarean section and she knew human love from a very early age. She never did anything wrong, she was such a special little girl.
Her life was plagued with issues.
After ten months of her being on and off poorly she was diagnosed with cancer on the adrenal gland of the kidney. By the time we managed to get her for the op  it had sadly spread . There was nothing that could be done to save her. She died on the table aged 17 months.
It’s hard to loose such a big part of your life, and it’s something I’ve never got over. Not a single day goes by when i don’t think or her or miss her. She was my very favourite hello and the hardest goodbye I have ever had to say. X
AStable

Bailey

Bailey was such an amazing little boy. He was our world. We miss him so very much. He was very cheeky, funny, smart, loving but most of all he was absolutely so very precious. His pawesome party piece was ringing the service bell for a treat. He was such a tough cookie too. He survived an 18 teeth out trauma in one go. A leap out of a shopping trolley, eating a fish hook, bait and line, a grade 4 heart murmur and a tumor in his tummy. He went through so very much but was a true hero all the way. He was a very special boy from the moment he came into our lives. He made us laugh and was always by our sides through good times and bad. The most priceless beautiful best friend in the world. Always in our hearts.

Stella our old beautiful girl , 10 years filled each day with Love , a little lady with a big character and heart, a day never goes by we dont miss her so much, our perfect little Pigloo x
